Sunlight:
Please protect your unique resin piece from UV rays by storing it away from direct sunlight for example in a jewellery box. Hanging or placing your resin product in direct sunlight will accelerate the yellowing process. Prolonged exposure may even cause the resin to soften.
Heat:
The maximum temperature the epoxy resin I use can handle is 80 degrees Celsius. The UV resin I use for jewellery is even more sensitive to heat. Therefore, it is advised to please avoid contact with extreme heat or smoke.
Please note: The resin products are not microwave or dishwasher safe.
Smoking:
Regular contact with smoke may cause your resin piece to yellow over time.
Scrapes:
We use an ultra-hard scratch resistant resin for our keychains, bookmarks and coasters. However, the resin is not scratch proof therefore care should still be taken to avoid unnecessary scratching and bumping.
Our coasters also have self-adhesive clear protective pads at the bottom to help minimise scratching.
Avoid sleeping or exercising with your resin jewellery as this increases the risk for scratching and bumping.
Water:
It is advised to remove your jewellery piece before showers, swimming and washing up. Although the resin is water resistant, it is not completely waterproof and long-term exposure may damage your product.
Chemicals:
Avoid exposing your resin product to harsh chemicals and cleaning products as well as any alcohol containing products such as hand sanitizer, hair spray, nail polish remover and perfume.
These products will react with the resin and may cause it to break down and become dull, scaly, yellow and even sticky.
How to safely clean your resin product:
Dust and fingerprints are best removed by using a lint free cloth for example those used to clean your glasses.
For spills or oils gently wash hand wash with mild soap such as dishwashing liquid and dry using a soft cloth.
Please do not use any abrasive cleaners as this will damage your product.
