What is resin?

Resin is a viscous liquid that hardens into a transparent solid when for example mixed with a hardener, as seen with Epoxy resin, or when exposed to ultraviolet light, as seen with UV curable resin. Resin is a versatile and durable material with a glossy, glass-like appearance.

There are many different types of resin each with their own curing times, curing temperatures, viscosities, maximum casting thicknesses and maximum casting volumes. The type of resin will determine which applications it can be used for, from countertops, to surfboard coatings to jewellery to river tables as well as a variety of industrial applications.

I use two different types of resin namely Epoxy resin and UV cured resin.
